Hi, my name is Rikki Tooley (a.k.a rikkit). I’m a sixth form student, studying Maths, Physics and Computing, and hopefully I’ll be studying Computer Science at university next year. I like electronic music (despite hating that label), playing videogames and writing the occasional literary piece. This is my new design blog. That might seems strange, given what I’ve just said, but let me explain.
I guess I’ve always been interested in Art and design, but trying to make things look good as well as useful is always an objective of mine in any work I do. This is where my other interests tie in: I like computers, and I like coding. And, nowadays, the key to having a good website or a good program is having both good code and good design sense. This is where I feel I can fit in in future work, where any designs I create will be inherently practical.
That’s not necessarily to say I want to be web designer or program designer, not that those are bad professions: I just haven’t had enough experience in either fields to fall in love yet.
Anyway, I’ve yet to come to those forks in the road. I know I’ll end up doing something with computers, at any rate. But for now, I’ve got this blog. On here I’ll be posting about any designs or coding I do, as well as anything interesting I have to say about computers and technology in general. Hope you like it.
